Koral Now: Phase 5
Well, now Koral has her own apartment, a new wig, a few new outfits, and so much more. She has a new body. I bought a Licca body off Ebay and tore the head off (after taking some pics of the poor little Licca first, of course!). Then I put the Licca body on my CCE doll’s head (or put Koral’s head on the Licca body, rather…whatever).

Above are a couple of photos of the Licca doll. More on my flickr.
Below are photos of Koral now. :)

Above is Koral in the jeans I sewed for her. Pattern came from here. My lovely mom made the crocheted top for her. Isn’t it cute!? I love that it has tie straps so it’s easier to get the top off for changing her. :)
Below is Koral in the dress I made on Friday. I did the skirt wrong, you can probably tell by the lack of poof and gatheringness…but I like it for the first dress I made for this body :) Pattern found here.

I really enjoy Koral a lot. She is getting cuter and prettier every day I think. Earlier today I went to an antique store and found a baggie of doll accessories. They were barbie size and the pack included the Olsen Twins dolls. It’s funny because my cousin and I were so obsessed with everything Olsen when we were little. :D The kind lady at the antique shop gave me the entire baggie for only $10! I was very pleased with my purchase. It included several articles of clothing, a few pairs of shoes, the two dolls, a tv stand, some miniature coke cans, a barbie phone, some little miniature CDs, DVDs, as well as other barbie sized accessories. I was so pleased! Below are a couple more photos:

Isn’t that purse adorable?? I found that in the baggie of goodies, too! The green shoes she’s wearing came in the baggie as well. I’d say it was a very productive dolly day!
I have a TON more photos of Koral, her apartment, and her accessories, so head on over to my flickr to have a look.

Koral Now: Phase 4
Hello again :)
Below are photos of Koral now. She’s in “Phase 4” of her customization. I just gave it phases so I would remember how much work I put into all this. Her wig is on its way and so is her licca body. I’m so excited!

This is Koral today. Sorry about bad lighting. It snowed here today after being so warm for a winter…
Anyway, I was unhappy with her lips after I painted them the first time as I stated before. I took it two coats of nail polish too far. I shouldn’t have used nail polish at all. Good news is that it was easy to get off once I realized how. I dabbed the teeniest bit of nail polish remover on her lips with a tissue, which I was afraid to do, but it was okay because it was the teeniest of amounts. It didn’t do a whole lot, so I started sanding her lips.
It was soooo hard, but then I just started scraping it off with my fingernail. It became easy as pie! The sanding must have been the wrong way to go about it for the nail polish, so there you have it.
After all that work, I repainted her lips a sort of light pinkish coral color with matte acrylic craft paints. I mixed a bit of a baby pink, flesh tone, and a bright pink-red color I forget the name of at the moment. I may have mixed in a bit of a vanilla colored acrylic paint, too. Not sure. Then my hubby found some glaze when we were out and I painted that over it all. It was a gloss glaze near the acrylic paints inside Hobby Lobby, in case you were wondering. It said something about being good for jewelry crafts and resin…I don’t know, but after I already used it, I read around on flickr and other places about using varnish. Man, I’ll have to try that on my next doll. :)
I found another good resource for doing lips here.
I will try that next time as I probably don’t want to redo her lips again any time soon…
I also cut the magic tape into a heart shape (it’s the foggy tape, not the clear tape!!) and I put it on her cheek. I then added more intensity to her blush while the heart cut-out tape was on her face. I then pulled the tape off and voila!! Little heart on her cheek. <3
It probably needs redone a bit though because it isn’t intense enough for me just yet. :)
Note: My lovely mom made her headband and purse. <3
Thanks for viewing. xoxo

Koral during phases 1 - 3 of her transformation
Hi all
Koral during transformation. I removed her make-up with a magic eraser. (it was off-brand, not mr. clean, so it may have taken longer bc of that.)

After much lip and nose carving. This is phase 1 of her transformation:

& painting:

& a little more painting…:

Then I overdid it! I knew I shouldn’t have done it! I stupidly used nail polish over her painted lips because I was too impatient to go out and get the correct stuff which would be varnish or glaze. It’s sort of pretty, but I wasn’t going for this look, so I ended up sanding it all off and starting over on the lips. (New lips to follow in different post.)

Thanks so much for viewing. ^.^

My CCE Doll
I just discovered Blythe dolls the weekend after Christmas and I became immediately hooked. I couldn’t believe what was happening to me. I was spiraling back into this little girl I used to be, loving dolls, loving their little clothes, and of course dollhouses. I mean I’ve always loved dollhouses, but I mostly got over the idea of dolls a long time ago. Now, I can’t imagine not loving these little dollies. I can’t afford a real blythe, but that’s okay. I ordered a CCE doll from a very good seller on Ebay and my life will never be the same. I got a slip in the mailbox saying that I could pick her up in the morning (this past Friday). I got her and once I opened the box, it was like Christmas morning when I was a little girl all over again. She is so much cuter than I expected her to be. The photos were cute, but didn’t do her justice. I also received an extra outfit, hair clips, and some candies for free! I couldn’t believe how excited I was over a doll! It’s amazing what these girls can do to a woman. haha, anyway so I uploaded tons of photos of her on flickr for your viewing pleasure. I wanted to document for myself but mostly for others who may want to buy a CCE doll, too. The CCE dolls have a skinny little body compared to Blythe and Blybe. I thought for sure I was going to switch out her body, but I think her body is kind of cute. :) I will probably keep her body as long as I can stand it. The only thing, other than a few minor discolorations and holes/cuts, that I don’t like about her body is how easily her legs move back and forth. In other words, they don’t stay put so well. I mean, they stay on her body, but she’s difficult to keep a standing pose, even on her stand. Other than this issue, I think her body is cute, and hey, we all have different body types, so why shouldn’t our dolls. :)
